The shortest and most preferred route from Mysore to Sringeri is through NH 373, which is around 249 km. This route will take approximately 6 hours and 13 minutes to cover during both the rush hours and light traffic. The NH 373 is in excellent condition and will offer you a comfortable drive. 

The alternative route is through Arsikere and Mysore Road, which is around 261. 2 km. And it will take almost 6 hours to cover this route. 

Another route you can take to reach Sringeri is via Hassan – Periyapatna Road. This route is a 266.7 km stretch, and you can cover it within 6 hours.

Sringeri Mutt

The greatest reformer of the ‘Smartha’ , Adi Shankara, established Sringeri Mutt in the 8th century AD. This ancient temple holds lots of historical and religious significance. It is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati and is known as one of the four Amnaya Peethams (throne of the Vedas). 

Kigga

Kigga is a small picturesque town located just 10 km away from Sringeri. Kigga is also famous for housing the drizzling Sirimane Falls.

Mallikarjuna Temple

Mallikarjuna, also known as Mahanikareshwara Temple, is located on the top of Mallappa Hill, which is around 1 km away from the Sringeri bus stand. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Vidya Shankara Temple

An ideal blend of South Indian and Vijayanagara architecture styles. Established in the 14th century, Vidya Shankara Temple is dedicated to Vidyashankara. 

Adi Shankaracharya Temple

Emperor Ashoka founded this temple in 200 BC. This ancient temple is situated at an altitude of 1100 feet and is dedicated to the sage Adi Shankara.
